"If Columbine High had been more accepting of the Trench Coat Thugs, or whatever they were called[1], the boys might not have gone off. That's the lesson for schools. Don't leave anyone out. Welcome everyone, even the pierced misfits with Mohawks. If Dartmouth can ban fraternities, high schools should be able to run snobby cliques off campus."

[1] They were called the Trenchcoat Mafia

This quotes page started out rather humbly in the fall of 1995, as I sought to add some real-live content to my web site. It grew madly, until it reached about 40K, and I thought it might be a good idea to categorize and split it up. One afternoon when I should've been coding at work, I finally did it... 10K and four months later. By and large, the best source of quotations are my own friends. I had planned on building an index of a large archive of netnews threads... I used to get into a lot of amusing discussions and flame wars, but that archive died with the 1G Seagate drive in my Mac IIsi in 1998, so that's not going to happen. It's a pity, too, 'cause there was a *lot* of great stuff in there.
